Roller ball for Starlight JoanneBrave cancer victim Joanne Gillespie had stars in her eyes when a dream date came true. Delighted Joanne, who is recovering from two brain operations, met dancers on a special trip to see Andrew Lloyd Webber's roller-skating West End show Starlight Express. The 11-year-old from Stockton on Tees, Cleveland, was in London with her family to launch her book Brave Heart, the story of her fight for survival after she was given six months to live two years ago. TODAY, which published exclusive extracts from the book last month, contacted Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Company to arrange tickets to the show. Joanne, who wants to be a dancer, said: "I wanted to see Starlight Express before but we couldn't get tickets. This is absolute magic". Joanne was a guest on TV's Wogan show last night. |
